Virtual Acoustic System with a Multichannel Headphone
نویسنده
چکیده
The performance of current virtual acoustic systems is highly sensitive to the geometry of individual ear at high frequencies. The objective of this paper is to study a virtual acoustic system which may not be sensitive to individual ear shape. The incident sound field around ear is reproduced by using a multi-channel headphone. The results of computer simulations show that the desired sound pressure at the eardrum can be successfully replicated in a virtual acoustic environment by using a multi-channel headphone.

Concept of a Laboratory for Psychoacoustic Experiments with Virtual Acoustics
The ongoing studies on interrelations of virtual acoustics and hearing research we conducted over the past decade [1-8] led us through some pitfalls and avoidable drawbacks before we had established a laboratory that integrates our procedural experiences on the subject. The laboratory now provides the user in an acoustically versatile environment with an integrated and cross-linked infrastructu...
متن کاملReal-Time Binaural Room Simulation
Methods for designing a binaural listening environment are presented. The designed system is capable of creating a natural and realistic spatial sound simulation in real time. The sound sources of the system may be either normal audio inputs from the AD converter or built-in model-based sound synthesizers. The output is directed to headphone, single-pair or multichannel loudspeaker reproduction...
متن کاملPsychoacoustic Evaluation of Different Methods for Creating Individualized, Headphone-presented Vas from B-format Rirs
We evaluate a new technique for synthesizing individualized binaural room impulse responses for headphone-rendered virtual auditory space (VAS) from B-format room impulse responses (RIRs) recorded with a Soundfield microphone, and a listener’s anechoic head-related impulse responses (HRIRs). Traditionally, B-format RIRs are decoded for loudspeaker playback using either Ambisonics or Spatial Imp...
متن کاملImplementation of Virtual Sound Source Considering Acoustic Path
Development of acoustic systems is a necessitate which require research over audio and speech processing. A novel and interesting concept in the real of acoustic systems is controlling room acoustic path. It means to orient the sound locally in a room to a desired person without annoying others and without using headphone. Room acoustic path enable us to create personal sound space in a specifi...
متن کاملHeadphone Reproduction via Loudspeakers using Inverse HRTF-Filters
Binaural signals like dummy-head recordings usually can only sound correct by headphone reproduction. When audio signals are reproduced via loudspeakers, their sound fields overlap. Each ear of a listener receives signals from all loudspeakers. But with appropriate filter processing, loudspeakers can serve as a “virtual headphone” and headphones can simulate loudspeaker signals [1]. The Binaura...
